Celtics' NBA Championship Odds Take Hit After Game 1 Loss to Bucks on FanDuel Sportsbook

Life has come fast at the Boston Celtics. After a sweep of the Brooklyn Nets in Round 1, the Celtics are down for the first time in the NBA Playoffs following their Game 1 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Boston's less-than-inspiring showing has caused its NBA championship odds to drop on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Celtics entered the second round of the playoffs with the best odds among Eastern Conference teams (and third overall) to win the title at +420. After their surprising Game 1 defeat, they dropped to +550.

More notably, they've been jumped by Milwaukee for the No. 3 spot. The Bucks have shot up from +850 before Game 1 to just +440 now.

This sizable shift shows Boston might be in trouble. The expected frontrunners in the east are all of sudden searching for answers after struggling to start this semifinal series.

It was a poor showing for the Celtics' offense on Sunday, managing a mediocre 89 points against the defending champs on just 33.3% shooting from the field. Jayson Tatum was the only Boston player with 20-plus points, which won't get things done against the Bucks, even without Khris Middleton in the lineup.

The Middleton injury does give the Celtics an advantage, but it's the underdog Bucks who are now in control after stealing a game on the road. Boston must defend home court on Tuesday if there's any chance of salvaging this series.
