The Denver Broncos offense has been hyped all offseason, as it now features many talented young playmakers. The man who will make or break this group in 2020 is second-year quarterback Drew Lock.
Lock has been hyped by some and criticized by others. However, Patrik Walker, of CBS Sports, is projecting the young passer to do something only four other Broncos quarterbacks have ever done.
Walker is making the bold prediction that Lock passes for over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2020. That's a feat only John Elway, Peyton Manning, Jay Cutler and Jake Plummer ever achieved in Denver. In fact, there have only been six such seasons in Broncos' history and three of them belong to Manning.
The 23-year-old Lock would also be the youngest Broncos' QB to tally a 4,000-yard, 25-TD season, edging out a 25-year-old Cutler. Everyone else on the list was at least 30 when they reached those marks.
With Lock now throwing to a suddenly loaded skill-position group featuring Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler and Noah Fant, maybe this prediction isn't so bold after all.
