The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' secondary continues to take hits in the early going. Cornerback Richard Sherman was the latest to get bit by the injury bug, as he suffered a hamstring injury during the team's Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tampa Bay has received an update on the veteran's injury heading into Week 7.
Richard Sherman Injury Update
The news on Sherman is as expected: He'll miss a couple of weeks with a hamstring strain. Thankfully it's not anything more severe, and he'll avoid the Injured Reserve list for now, which leaves the door open for a return sooner rather than later.
Sherman was slated to play a large role for this team after Sean Murphy-Bunting and Carlton Davis both landed on IR. He made an immediate impact, forcing a fumble in his Bucs debut and registering three starts before his injury.
This hampered Tampa Bay secondary could get a boost with safety Antoine Winfield Jr. possibly returning from his concussion in Week 7. Their approaching bye could also help speed up the return of their injured cornerbacks.
For now, they'll turn their attention toward a matchup against the Chicago Bears next Sunday.
