Buccaneers Get Promising News on Latest Leonard Fournette Injury Update

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are no strangers to injuries, and while the team rolled over the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card Round, Tampa Bay faces a much tougher test against the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round this weekend.

Fortunately, Tampa Bay received some promising news around an injury update to one of their most important offensive pieces, running back Leonard Fournette.

Leonard Fournette Injury Update

Fournette, aka Playoff Lenny, has been out since Week 16 of the regular season after putting together the best stretch of his NFL career. The fifth-year back returned to practice for the first time since his hamstring injury, and appears to be trending towards some sort of availability on Sunday, depending on how his remaining practices go.

Fournette recorded an impressive 10 total touchdowns with 812 rushing yards and 69 receptions through just 14 games played this year, well on his way for a third 1,000-yard rushing campaign. That dominant stretch continues on from his brilliant playoff run last year, in which he scored 4 TDs and 300 rushing yards in the four games as part of Tampa Bay's championship run.

Fans should keep an eye out for Fournette's status after Friday's practice, but there's a chance he plays at least in some capacity on Sunday. The Buccaneers enter this clash with the Rams as slim 3-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook.
