The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' injury woes in the secondary continued on Thursday night. Recent cornerback addition Richard Sherman was forced to leave the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a hamstring issue.
The latest on Sherman is disappointing news.
Richard Sherman Injury
Sherman will undergo an MRI, but he's expected to miss a couple of weeks while he recovers. This is a blow for a Buccaneers defense that has lost several key contributors in the secondary to begin the year.
Early injuries to Sean-Murphy Bunting and Carlton Davis, who are both currently on the Injured Reserve list, prompted Tampa Bay to bring in Sherman. He made an immediate impact in his team debut in Week 4, forcing a fumble against the New England Patriots.
The Bucs will now have to make do without three starting cornerbacks and safety Antoine Winfield Jr., who's been sidelined since Week 4 with a concussion.
With extra rest coming off of Thursday night, hopefully Tampa Bay's secondary can make some progress in their recoveries before Week 7.
