Broncos Insider Teases Exciting Possible Free Agent Signing

Aldon Smith made his return to the NFL last season for the first time since 2015. Back then, one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, Smith looked to be destined for an all-time great career. However, off the field issues forced him to retire and he was out of football until 2020.
But after suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys last season, Smith proved he still has something left in the tank, grabbing 5.0 sacks. The Cowboys announced on Wednesday that they would not be re-signing Smith, though, making his next landing spot a mystery.
Woody Paige of the Denver Post thinks his connection to Broncos head coach Vic Fangio could be meaningful.
Aldon Smith and Vic Fangio had close relationship in San Francisco, and coach has reached out to him often since and tried to help. The two could reunite in Denver.

Smith could be a great addition to this Denver defense. Pairing his pass-rushing ability alongside Von Miller and Bradley Chubb could help create a scary front seven for the Broncos.
Smith could be had at a reasonable price, too. It's unclear how much interest Smith has around the league, but Denver has plenty of cap space to play with as of now, currently holding the second-most space in the NFL.
While there is no official visit scheduled that we know of yet, it wouldn't be a shock to see one happen soon now that Dallas has officially moved on.
