The Denver Broncos aim to look a lot different in 2022 than in years past with new head coach Nathaniel Hackett running the operation. Building a roster filled with young talent is the next logical move to make and Todd McShay projects the Broncos to land a steal in his latest NFL mock draft.

Broncos Mock Draft

McShay expects the Broncos to take offensive lineman Daniel Faalele to cap off the second round (No. 64 overall). It's surprising to see the Minnesota standout fall that far given CBS Sports ranks him as a top-30 prospect. His massive size alone (6-foot-8, 384 pounds) gives him a ton of NFL upside.

Faalele has been quietly climbing up draft boards and for good reason. He allowed just 1 pressure over the course of his final eight college games and is improving with every rep he gains. The 22-year-old monster of a man could be developed into a long-term starter if given the right guidance.

It's worth noting that Faalele also has 35-inch arms and 11-inch hands, which allows him to latch onto opposing pass rushers and force them backwards. That is not a trait that many offensive lineman possess. The work it takes to get by Faalele can exhaust his opponents after just a few snaps.

The Broncos signed Billy Turner to be their starting right tackle for the 2022 season, but he is more of a stopgap option than a solution for the future. Denver needs to make sure they can protect new quarterback Russell Wilson after finishing tied for the 11th-most sacks allowed last year (40.0).

The 2022 NFL Draft is set to get underway on Thursday, April 28.
