NFL free agency has gotten off to a hot start on Monday, with a flurry of deals being agreed to in just the first few hours of the legal tampering period. The Denver Broncos were one of the first teams to get things going, revealing that they plan to sign former Baltimore Ravens guard Ben Powers to a four-year deal.

Powers is a reliable lineman who started all 17 games for the Ravens last season and was part of a unit that was tied for 10th in sacks allowed per game last season.

Denver Broncos News

Powers is a welcomed addition to a Broncos offensive line that allowed more sacks per game than any other team in the NFL last season. New QB Russell Wilson struggled mightily in his first season with Denver, and rarely having a clean pocket surely contributed to that.

Getting Wilson some protection was priority No. 1 for this Broncos team. While they surely aren't done adding to the roster, Denver will need to make a swift turnaround this year after spending a ton of capital on Wilson last season and new head coach Sean Payton this offseason.
