Astros Get Encouraging Framber Valdez Injury Update

On the cusp of a fifth straight postseason appearance, the Houston Astros will begin preparing for playoff baseball over the last few weeks of the 2021 MLB season. This includes getting and staying as healthy as possible.
That's exactly why concerns were raised when Framber Valdez was scratched from his Thursday start against the Texas Rangers. Fortunately, it seems more precautionary than anything else and manager Dusty Baker says that Valdez should make his next start on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels.

Framber Valdez Injury Update
According to reports, Valdez is dealing with a cut on his left index finger. Houston took extra caution on this injury news, opting to skip Valdez's start with the idea of ensuring his 100% health for the postseason.
Valdez is an important piece of Houston's rotation, which ranks fourth in the MLB with a team 3.69 ERA. Through 19 starts, Valdez owns a 10-5 record alongside a 3.26 ERA and 1.267 WHIP.
