After the release of Justin Upton, the Los Angeles Angels outfield will be looking a bit different this season, and Taylor Ward is expected to be a big part of that. However, his season start will now be a bit delayed after being placed on the 10-day Injured List to start the year.
Taylor Ward Injury Update
The Angeles did not release any details on the injury or the reason for the IL placement, but nevertheless, Ward will miss at least the first 10 days of the 2022 campaign. There is expected to be more clarity on the designation soon, so something to keep an eye out for.
Ward has been with the Angels for four seasons, with his largest impact coming last season, playing a career-high 65 games. He hit .250 with 8 home runs and 33 RBI. All of those numbers are expected to increase this season with a larger role expected for the 28-year-old outfielder.
The Angels are currently +2500 in FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds to win the 2022 World Series. Which ranks them tied for No. 11 in the MLB.
