When the MLB elected not to use any sort of bubble or quarantine for the 2020 regular season, it led to some predictable complications when various teams had COVID-19 breakouts throughout the year.

It's a lot harder to make up for lost time in the postseason than it was in the regular season, however, so the league has instituted playoff bubbles for the final three rounds. This has the Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics staying in the same Los Angeles hotel.

The MLB isn't going with a full-on bubble like the NBA did, but rather quarantining teams together for each series. That means there are four playoff bubbles in the divisional round, while the Championship Series and World Series will also see teams quarantined together.

There's been no love lost between the AL West rival Astros and Athletics in 2020 (just ask Ramon Laureano), so this is an interesting situation to say the least.

Ahead of Monday afternoon's Game 1, FanDuel Sportsbook has the A's as slight -136 favorites to win this series, while the Astros are +116 underdogs.
