Ever since Nick Saban took over the head-coaching reigns in Tuscaloosa a little more than a decade ago, his level of success at Alabama has practically made the Crimson Tide a factory for top-tier NFL talent.

Even accounting for Alabama's loss to LSU in Week 11 this year, Saban still has more first-round NFL Draft Picks (26) than he does losses (22) as the head coach of the Crimson Tide.

That trend doesn't appear to be going anywhere next April either. In fact, Saban and Alabama might be in line to break the NFL's record for the most first-round draft picks selected from the same school in one year.

NFL Record for Most First-Round Picks From Same College

Alabama has produced at least three first-round picks in each of the past three NFL Drafts, with four members of the Tide coming off the board in the first round in both the 2017 and 2018 drafts. Saban has also produced at least one first-round pick in each of the past 10 drafts, and his Alabama teams have claimed four first-rounders in four separate drafts over that stretch.

However, none of Saban's draft classes have produced more than four first-round picks in the same draft, leaving them two short of Miami's record for the most first-round selections from the same college, with six in the 2004 NFL Draft.

Alabama Players in 2020 NFL Mock Draft

As of late November, Tankathon.com is projecting as many as nine Alabama players to be taken in the first round of next year's draft. Though nine may sound on the higher side, Bleacher Report's preseason 2020 NFL Mock Draft featured seven members of the Crimson Tide on their first-round predictions.

CBS Sports' latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft is calling for six Alabama players to go in the first 32 picks next April. And if we average the projections among all three of those sources (7.33), Alabama could be looking at a record-setting draft day in 2020.

Though each projection featured variations, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, WR Jerry Jeudy, LB Dylan Moses, WR Henry Ruggs III were four names that appeared in the first round of each of those mock drafts.

Nick Saban First-Round Draft Picks

With Quinnen Williams (New York Jets), Jonah Williams (Cincinnati Bengals) and Josh Jacobs (Oakland Raiders) having come off the board in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Saban has now produced 26 first-round NFL Draft picks through his 12 completed seasons with Alabama.

While there's still plenty of time, deliberation and decisions to be made between now and next spring, multiple mock drafts are calling for the Tide to either break Miami's record, or come very close to it in the 2020 NFL Draft.
