A lot can change very quickly in the standings in baseball. That's never been more evident than in the MLB's AL East.

Looking back to the 2021 MLB Trade Deadline, the Boston Red Sox sat on top of the American League's toughest division. Just one month later, the Red Sox find themselves in free-fall mode, according to the latest AL East division odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

AL East Division Odds

Boston is fresh off a quick three-game series (in two days) against their fiercest rivals, the New York Yankees. New York, the hottest team in baseball right now, swept the Red Sox while putting an absolute hammer to them in the division standings.

Just one month ago, the Yankees found themselves in fourth place in the standings and a record hovering around .500. After the sweep, New York securely owns second place in the standings and the top AL Wild Card spot, in addition to the second-best division odds (+370).

While the Yankees have been on fire, so have the Tampa Bay Rays. Over the past month, Tampa Bay has flipped a a 0.5-game deficit into a 5.0-game division lead. The Rays have gone 27-13 since the start of July and hold very favorable -240 odds to win the AL East.
