After Wednesday's soul-crushing defeat at the hands of the rival North Carolina Tar Heels, you'd figure the Duke Blue Devils would no longer be the odds-on favorite to win the NCAA men's basketball title. Especially now, knowing their star player Zion Williamson will miss at least a few games.

But that's not the case, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Blue Devils remain the favorites to cut down the nets, however their odds slipped from +180 to +230.

With that, it's no surprise that the Tar Heels odds improved from +1800 to +1500 after their upset win at Cameron Indoor. Not a huge jump, by any stretch of the imagination, but they still had to be rewarded for their impressive win on national TV.

When the new rankings come out next Monday, UNC will likely find itself ranked higher than its current No. 8 spot.

The Blue Devils showed that they're a much different team without Zion and if he doesn't return at full strength for the NCAA Tournament, anything can happen during March Madness. R.J. Barrett will need to step up, especially if he wants to maintain his projected top-3 status in the upcoming 2019 NBA Draft.

While Duke remains the favorited to win it all, betting on a team without its best player is always a risky proposition. However, with a starting five chocked full of five-star recruits, the Blue Devils still have enough talent to be front and center as "One Shining Moment" closes out the tournament.
