Joejaun Williams appeared in 34 games during his career at Vanderbilt. He was a two-year starter and earned All-SEC honors in 2018, his final collegiate season. This past season as a junior, he recorded 61 tackles, four interceptions, 13 pass deflections and two tackles for a loss.
Williams exclusively played defensive back at Vanderbilt, functioning primarily as a press corner. He proved to be best in zone coverage, but was also a sure tackler in the open-field. He has excellent size and good feet which should help at the next level.

Joejuan Williams NFL Draft Projection
- Late first to early second-round pick
Joejuan Williams Draft Prediction
- Seattle Seahawks (No. 21)
Williams has enough length, strength and physicality to be disruptive to NFL receivers at all levels of the field. Seattle has a long history, under head coach Pete Carroll, of placing a lot of value on big, strong defensive backs and Williams' size is truly elite. His competitive nature is also right up Carroll's alley. Williams had one of his best games against Ole Miss and star wide receiver A.J. Brown, recording five solo tackles, an interception and four pass defections in a win for the Commodores.
It will take some careful planning for Seattle to land Williams, considering the Seahawks have already traded away their second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Seattle may reach and take him with the No. 21 overall pick, otherwise, look for Seattle to trade back into the second round to pick up the cornerback.
