Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware has officially been listed as doubtful for the Week 15 Thursday night mega-matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. With the team on a short week, look for the Chiefs to turn to a running-back-by-committee backfield of Damien Williams and Charcandrick West.

Williams was already a hot commodity to grab off the waiver wire earlier this week, and if you're one of the lucky folks in a league where he's still available, stop reading this article immediately and go pick him up. In Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens, he scored two touchdowns while accumulating just 30 total yards on 12 touches. The latter part isn't great, but without Ware, Williams' expected volume of touches alone makes him worth the add.

West hasn't touched the playing field yet this season. He has always managed to linger around in some form on the Chiefs' depth chart, but will likely be needed a decent amount in the Thursday contest.

After all, Williams has never had more than 11 carries in an NFL game, and we all saw what he did last week when Ware was supposed to lead the due in fantasy production. It's quite possible that West has the same vulture-tendencies on Thursday night.

All in all, having either piece of the KC backfield is a decent play. But Williams is clearly the guy you want to start in Week 15. Stay tuned for more information about exactly how much work each backfield member will receive, but feel good starting Williams as a low-end RB2 and West as a deep-league FLEX.
