Considering how well they've played this season, one would think putting money down on the Pittsburgh Steelers is one of the safest bets you could make, and you'd be right to an extent. However, it might be wise to avoid them all together if they're favored on the road.

It seems the Steelers head into games as road favorites with a little too much confidence this season. In the three games in which Pittsburgh has been favored away from home, they've committed at least three turnovers, leading to a 0-2-1 record against the spread and a 1-1-1 record overall.

While this is clearly an insightful trend, knowing this won't help bettors all that much when you look at Pittsburgh's remaining schedule.

The Steelers have only one road game left this season in which they're expected to be favored by a pretty hefty margin: Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders. Considering how bad the Raiders have been all year, it's more likely than not that Pittsburgh finally bucks the trend there and at least wins. Covering could be a different story.
