If you, like many others, want to put some money down on this week's Ryder Cup, FanDuel Sportsbook is offering some cool insurance for betting on the good ol' US of A.

Basically how it works in a nutshell is, if you place a bet on the USA to win the Ryder Cup prior to the end of day 2 (Saturday) and they have the lead by the end of day two, but lose the tournament on day 3 (Sunday), the insurance will cover that bet up to $100 and fund your account with a free play of your bet amount. It's a pretty sweet deal if you were already planning to bet on the boys in red white and blue.

On top of that wager opportunity, there are some other interesting bets to make on the Ryder Cup. We outlined a few on Wednesday, but there are plenty more to discuss.

Match Bet - Points

Ian Poulter -125

Ricky Fowler -125

Although Poulter is one of the most experienced Ryder Cup players from either side, he might have the least impressive PGA Tour resume of anyone in the tournament given how long he's been around. Fowler has been on the cusp of breaking through and winning a major the past couple years. While he didn't get it done this year, a strong Ryder Cup performance could be a great consolation prize.

Match Bet - Points

Rory McIlroy -140

Dustin Johnson -115

Dustin Johnson is happy in Paris with Paulina Gretzky back by his side (after a possible hiatus), which is important to his game. Secondly, Johnson had a fantastic 2018, while Rory was closer to disappointing. The Ryder Cup is a different animal than a PGA Tour event in more ways than one, but its hard to ignore the better value on a guy who had a better year and whose mind is now in a happy place again.

Top Overall Rookie

Justin Thomas +300

Jon Rahm +430

Tommy Fleetwood +470

Bryson DeChambeau +500

Alex Noren +800

Tony Finau +1000

Thorbjorn Olesen +1200

Tyrrell Hatton +1200

As mentioned, the Ryder Cup is a different animal. PGA Tour success doesn't always translate given the different style of play in the event. Tiger Woods is a perfect example. So when betting Ryder Cup rookies, you have to combine where there's good value with guys who are playing solid golf coming in.

Two guys that jump out to fit these criteria are Fleetwood and Finau. Both had impressive 2018 seasons and excel in aspects of the game that could be advantageous to their teams in the various Ryder cup formats. Also, it looks like Fleetwood will play in many events, so there's value there too.

There are still bets on the Ryder cup being added every day and, with your possible bet on the USA being insured by FanDuel, plenty of opportunities to make this event lucrative.
