8 Crazy Prop Bets for Jets-Lions Monday Night Showdown

It's the first Monday of the NFL season and that means we get a double-portion of "Monday Night Football."

First up, rookie Sam Darnold and the New York Jets take on Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions, followed by a Golden State showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders in Jon Gruden's first game back as a head coach since 2008.

The games themselves should be entertaining, but of course, with this much football being played, there are going to be plenty of fun prop bets to wager. Here are eight of the craziest ones for tonight's game in Oakland.

1. Gurley, Lynch, Crowell & Blount All Score a Touchdown

Odds: 25/1

This prop requires all four starting running backs to score touchdowns between both of tonight's games. So, even if Isaiah Crowell and Legarrette Blount score touchdowns for the Jets and Lions in the first game, you still need to wait for the late game to cash in.

2. Sam Darnold to Throw for Over 253.5 Yards & 2+ Interceptions

Odds: 5/1

This one requires Sam Darnold to be successful enough to throw for over 250 yards, but also perform poorly enough to throw two interceptions. Only 12 quarterbacks this week threw for over 250 yards, and four of those also threw two or more interceptions. So, it's not impossible.

3. First Half Handicap

Jets (+4): 10/11

Lions (-4): 4/5

Normally, when you bet on a game with a handicap it's for the outcome of an entire game, but here you just have to worry about the first half. It won't matter if the Lions actually win by more than four or the Jets have a hot first half, even if they fall off towards the end like the Bears on Sunday.

4. Robby Anderson & Terrelle Pryor to Each Have 5+ Receptions

Odds: 22/1

This is intriguing because it doesn't matter how many yards either of the receivers have, they just have to catch the ball more than five times each. For reference, 48 players had five or more receptions this week in the NFL, while Robby Anderson did this five times last season and Terrelle Pryor did it once.

5. Highest Scoring Quarter

First Quarter: 5/1

Second Quarter; 13/8

Third Quarter: 5/1

Fourth Quarter 23/10

I'm not sure if there's any reasoning to approaching this bet, other than more points are scored in the first and third quarters compared to the second and fourth usually. There were, however, 24 points scored in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's Bears-Packers showdown.

6. Over 7.5 Total Sacks & Over 2.5 Total Interceptions

Odds: 25/1

If you think tonight's game is going to be a complete disaster for both quarterbacks, this is the bet for you. Darnold and Stafford like to throw the ball rather recklessly sometimes, and both offensive lines are unproven. But eight sacks is still a lot, even for a combined stat.

7. Theo Riddick & Marvin Jones to Each Have 8+ Receptions

Odds: 250/1

This is the biggest long-shot bet of the night at 250/1, where both Theo Riddick and Marvin Jones need to have at least eight receptions each. Interestingly enough, just 12 receivers through Sunday night had eight or more receptions. Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas were the only pair of teammates to accomplish this in Week 1, and this combo isn't really that farfetched.

8. 4+ TDs in Each Half & Game to Go to Overtime

Odds: 125/1

This is the opposite end of our sacks/interceptions bet, but it could be a good way to go if you think the game will be a high-scoring slugfest. If that happens then you'd be a winner; now let's just hope it doesn't end in a tie.
