Worst NFL Preseason Injuries Through Week 3

There's nothing more frustrating than watching one of your fantasy hopeful's season come to an abrupt ending before Week 1. In honor of those poor souls affected by preseason injuries, here's a list of some of the biggest preseason losses around the league thus far.

5. Deon Cain, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Injury: Torn ACL

Deon Cain was instrumental to Clemson during his time in college, catching more than 1,450 yards and 15 touchdowns over his last two seasons for the Tigers. The sixth-round pick may not have been poised to be one of the biggest fantasy prospects at WR for 2018, but a torn ACL suffered in early August will have him off draft boards for the entire season.

4. Isaiah Wynn, OL, New England Patriots

Injury: Torn ACL

An offensive lineman doesn't really register as the same kind of loss as a fantasy flex player directly, but losing someone like Isaiah Wynn does create a ripple affect for Patriot fantasy players like Tom Brady and the entire New England backfield. Wynn is only one lineman, but New England had high hopes for the second-round pick out of Georgia when it came to both pass protection and run blocking for backs like James White and first-round pick Sony Michel.

3. Hunter Henry, TE, Los Angeles Chargers

Injury: Torn ACL

Prior to tearing his ACL in OTAs back in May, Henry was heading into the 2018-19 season as one of the most talked-about tight ends in the league after a great sophomore season. With more than 500 receiving yards, 45 receptions and four touchdowns last year, Henry is a huge loss for QB Philip Rivers, the entire Chargers offense and fantasy owners alike.

2. Derrius Guice, RB, Washington Redskins

Injury: Torn ACL

You could easily make a case for rookie and second-round pick Derrius Guice as the biggest fantasy loss with the running back's positional upside by default. A lot of people were high on Guice coming out of LSU, and many of those people agreed that Washington snagging him in the beginning of the second round was one of the best steals of the draft. Unfortunately, Guice won't be making anyone's league this season.

1. Marqise Lee, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Injury: Torn ACL

Marqise Lee is the latest and, perhaps, biggest name on the preseason injury list when it comes to fantasy value. Over the past two seasons, Lee has accounted for 105 targets and that's going to be a huge gap to fill for the Jaguars receiving core for fantasy purposes. Look for guys like Dede Westbrook and Keenan Cole to get a boost in production as a result this season.
