The Georgia Bulldogs have long been thought of as a tough-minded football team that will wear you down over the course of the game. Much of this is from their strong running game, featuring some very talented running backs.

Many of these running backs went on to the next level and continued to dominate. These are the three best NFL running backs to come out of the Georgia football program, along with their career NFL rushing total.

4. Todd Gurley (5,404 Yards)

While his career is still ongoing, Todd Gurley deserves to be on this list. Aside from his 5,404 rushing yards through his first five pro seasons, he also has another 2,090 yards through the air. He has found pay dirt a total of 70 times, showing his ability to put up points for his team. Due to arthritis in his knees and poor offensive line play, Gurley did team a step back this past season, though he has said there is plenty left in the tank.

3. Garrison Hearst (7,966 Yards)

If not for playing on some bad teams and missing two seasons due to suffering avascular necrosis, I believe the selection of Garrison Hearst on this list would be a much more obvious choice. Hearst played 10 seasons in the league on four different teams, running for nearly 8,000 career yards and catching another 2,000 yards. He had four different 1,000-yard seasons, including one after his return from avascular necrosis. He averaged 63.2 yards per game and 4.4 yards per carry for his career.

2. Herschel Walker (8,225 Yards)

While Walker wasn't nearly as dominant in the NFL as he was in Athens, he still rushed for 8,225 yards in his 13-year pro career. He played for a total of four teams and was the main piece of the famous trade between the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings that eventually turned the Cowboys into a dynasty in the 1990's. Walker also amassed 4,859 receiving yards in his career and 82 total touchdowns.

1. Terrell Davis (7,607 Yards)

Terrell Davis had to earn his spot on the Denver Broncos, after being drafted in the sixth round. However, the Hall of Famer did that and much more during his seven-year NFL career. He rushed for 7,607 career yards, including a 2,000-yard, 21-touchdown season in 1998 despite his career being cut short by injury . He is a two-time Super Bowl champ, one-time Super Bowl MVP and a three-time All-Pro selection.
