Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL, coming off a Super Bowl victory. In just three seasons, he's already been named a Super Bowl MVP, the NFL MVP and he's been a Pro Bowler in both of his two seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs' starter. However, Mahomes wasn't always thought of this highly.

Despite being a two-sport athlete, and dominating on the football field in high school, Mahomes only checked in as the No. 47 quarterback in the 2014 class. This means there are a whole lot of people that panned out to be far worse than Mahomes that were ranked ahead of him.

With that in mind, let's take a look at three recruits that shockingly ranked higher than Mahomes in the 2014 recruiting class.
