The move has finally happened, and the Las Vegas Raiders will open 2020 in the new Allegiant Stadium. Head coach Jon Gruden and GM Mike Mayock have been targeting the 2020 Draft since coming on board. They have an extra first-rounder due to trading Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears and are in perfect position to trade up, if necessary.
With the Raiders needing a spark to start their time in Las Vegas, here are three players the Raiders could target if they trade up in the 2020 NFL Draft.
1. Isaiah Simmons, LB
The Raiders could use another linebacker for the future, even after adding Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski in the offseason. Clemson's Isaiah Simmons is a fantastic talent, excelling at coverage and run defense. He even played some safety for Clemson, a testament to his abilities. Simmons would slot in well with the Raiders defense, but he will almost certainly be taken before the Raiders pick at No. 12. A trade to at least the No. 7 pick would be required for Simmons.
2. Jerry Jeudy, WR
Jerry Jeudy had a fantastic year with Alabama, showing a unique ability to dominate opposing defenses en route to a second-straight 1,000-yard season. The Raiders are in need of a wide receiver to help Derek Carr and newly-signed Marucs Mariota. Currently, they are set to play Nelson Agholor and Tyrrell Williams, so spending a first-rounder on a receiver is a good choice. However, with other teams above them looking at wide receivers, including the New York Jets, they may need to trade up to get Jeudy. If Las Vegas picks another position at 12 and Jeudy is still on the board, you might see them move up from their No. 19 spot in an effort to snag the Alabama product.
3. CeeDee Lamb, WR
CeeDee Lamb would be another huge addition for the Raiders at wide receiver. A great route runner with amazing physicality, Lamb looks set to be a No. 1 receiver of the future. He showed off his incredible skills at the NFL Combine, making several highlight reel catches. If the Raiders are sold on Lamb, a trade up from No. 12 would be the safest way to ensure that he lands in Las Vegas if he is indeed their preferred guy at WR.
