The Detroit Lions have been in a state of mediocrity for a long time, as they have been forced to play in a tough division with three teams that have it a bit more figured out. It has not been for a lack of trying, since the Lions continue to make some solid moves in order to better their franchise.

Coming off a 3-12-1 season, there could be plenty of starting jobs up for grabs in Detroit. With that in mind, here are three Lions that could be in danger of losing their starting role in 2020.

1. Kerryon Johnson, RB

Kerryon Johnson ended many of the running back woes for the Lions, breaking the team's 70-game drought without a 100-yard rusher. However, he has been unable to stay healthy, missing a combined 14 games in his two-year career. This led to the Lions taking D'Andre Swift in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Swift can be an every-down back for Detroit, and he could compete for the starting job right away.

2. Romeo Okwara, DE

Romeo Okwara has been a rotational player for the Lions, starting 14 games in 2018 and just one in 2019. Most sources currently have him penciled in as the starter, but he could lose that job to a familiar face. Julian Okwara, Romeo's brother, was drafted in the third round. Once seen as a first-round talent, injury concerns caused him to drop a bit, but if Julian is healthy he certainly has a chance to earn the starting job.

3. Oday Aboushi, RG

Oday Aboushi was the team's starter over the last two weeks of the season. It's not like he ran away with the job, receiving a grade of 57.7 from Pro Football Focus. He's currently projected to retain that role, but third-round pick Jonah Jackson could push him for playing time. The Lions also drafted another guard in Logan Stenberg with their fourth-round pick, and both players have a chance to take over for Aboushi in 2020.
