The New Orleans Saints' 2020 season came to a disappointing end with a 30-20 playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The likely retirement of QB Drew Brees is going to be one of many changes to the Saints' roster

With significant salary cap issues, there will be many trades, cuts, restructured deals and players moving on through free agency. That includes star wide receiver Michael Thomas, who carries an $18.8 million cap hit for 2021 with his record five-year, $100 million contract extension signed in 2019.

Thomas is a candidate to be dealt by the Saints, and here are three teams who could trade for the elite wide receiver.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired Urban Meyer as their new head coach, and the former Florida and Ohio State coach just added a former Ohio State player as the Jaguars' strength and conditioning coach. Michael Thomas was a standout on Meyer's Buckeye teams, and he was hyped about the hiring on social media. The Jaguars are projected to have the most salary cap space in the NFL, and trading for Thomas to join upcoming No. 1 draft pick QB Trevor Lawrence makes sense, opening up the door for Thomas and Meyer to reunite in Jacksonville.

2. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianpolis Colts need a No. 1 receiver even if T. Y. Hilton does not leave in free agency. Hilton's production has fallen off the past two seasons and he's now 31 years old. While Thomas managed to play in just seven regular season games and total 438 receiving yards in 2020, he was hampered by an ankle injury. The All Pro receiver racked up at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first four NFL seasons prior, highlighting that it was just a down year. The Colts have plenty of cap space to add an elite wideout.

3. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have the cap space and draft capital to make a deal for an elite wide receiver. The potential to add Thomas with DeVante Parker, the team's top receiver in 2020 with 793 yards, is intriguing. With last year's top draft pick at quarterback in Tua Tagvailoa, Miami's building a young team through the draft and has added some players to an improved defense. Now it's time to fish for an elite wide receiver like Thomas to boost Miami's momentum on offense.
