The Denver Broncos have conducted a thorough search to find their next head coach after parting ways with Vic Fangio. The team could go in a few directions, either pursuing the next great offensive mind or doubling down on its strong defense and choosing someone with a defensive-focused approach.

Now it appears the Broncos are down to three final candidates for the job.

Broncos Next Head Coach

Denver has a solid mix with its three finalists: Nathaniel Hackett of the Green Bay Packers, Kevin O'Connell of the Los Angeles Rams, and Dan Quinn of the Dallas Cowboys.

Hackett and O'Connell are both offensive coordinators for their respective teams, while Quinn serves as the defensive coordinator in Dallas.

It's no surprise to see Hackett draw consideration after his work in Green Bay. The Packers have ranked in the top ten for both yards and points in back-to-back seasons.

O'Connell has enjoyed similar success in LA. The Rams ranked 11th and 22nd in yards and points, respectively, during his first season in 2020. Then the team shot up to 9th and 7th in those categories this year.

Quinn is the one finalist with previous head-coaching experience, serving at the helm of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015-2020. The team enjoyed two playoff trips, including a Super Bowl appearance, during his first three seasons. Atlanta then finished under .500 record over his last two full years, and he was fired five games into the 2020 campaign.

Quinn's improved his perception around the league with his stint as the Cowboys' DC. Dallas ranked No. 7 in fewest points allowed and No. 1 overall in takeaways generated this season, Quinn's first season with the team.

The Broncos appear to be leaning toward an offensive mind to help take that unit to new heights, but Quinn remains a serious contender given his experience.
