The Chicago White Sox have been one of the best teams in the American League this season and Tim Anderson has been one of their best players.

In 108 games this year, Anderson is slashing an impressive .302/.331/.458 on top of playing some phenomenal shortstop. Although, it appears the White Sox will be without Anderson for a while, as he's officially heading to the injured list with a hamstring strain. Anderson hasn't played since Aug. 28.

Hamstring injuries can be tricky, especially for someone who relies on his speed and agility. Anderson's lack of improvement over the few days is why he is hitting the IL.

The team's hope is that he will be able to return sometime next week, but that's not guaranteed at this point. Chicago is currently slated to be the No. 3 seed in the American League playoffs.

The White Sox currently hold +800 odds to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB odds.
