Weather isn't usually an impact early in the NFL season, but as the weeks roll on and we get into November, that changes drastically.
That's exactly what we see in Week 8, with heavy wind and rain expected to play a big role in some key matchups.
Vikings vs Packers Weather Fantasy Football
Mike Zimmer is always looking for an excuse to run the ball, and this gives him one. Expect Kirk Cousins' volume to be way down (downgrade for Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson), while Dalvin Cook should see all the work he can handle as he returns from a groin injury.
Aaron Rodgers still has plenty of upside against a weak Vikings' secondary, but there could be some extra carries coming for Jamaal Williams, who will once again start in place of Aaron Jones.
Raiders vs Browns Weather Fantasy Football
Josh Jacobs and Kareem Hunt were already both top plays this week, but the weather makes their outlooks even better. Both of these defenses rank below average in Football Outsiders' run defense DVOA metric (19th for the Browns, 29th for the Raiders), and both Jacobs and Hunt should see more than enough volume to exploit the weakness.
Patriots vs Bills Weather Fantasy Football
With a dearth of healthy receivers and a crowded backfield, New England still doesn't bring much fantasy goodness this week. This is also a tough spot for fantasy managers relying on Buffalo Bills players.
An increase in rushing still leaves Devin Singletary and Zack Moss as mediocre options in a timeshare, but it does downgrade Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, as the deep ball won't be nearly as reliable as it has been all season.
