Week 5 Fantasy Football Rankings: Top 30 Players

We're now a quarter of the way through the 2019 fantasy football season, and we're starting to get some clarity. Patterns are beginning to develop in usage and roles for offensive players, while we're also starting to get a better feel for which defensive matchups are worth attacking.
With that in mind, here are the top-30 players in fantasy football for Week 5. For a more comprehensive list, be sure to check out our Week 5 PPR rankings and our Week 5 fantasy football rankings for standard scoring leagues.
30. Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers (at DAL)
Jamaal Williams looks unlikely to play in Week 5 after suffering a scary head injury in Week 4, and that should leave Aaron Jones in full control of the Green Bay Packers' backfield. Williams had been seriously cutting into Jones' workload through the first three games, but Jones racked up 19 touches while also scoring his fourth touchdown of the season in Week 4. The Dallas Cowboys make for a tough matchup, but look for Jones to handle workhorse volume this week.
29. Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks (vs LAR)
28. Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys (vs GB)
27. George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers (vs CLE)
26. Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis Colts (at KC)
25. Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers (vs DEN)
24. LeSean McCoy, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (vs IND)
23. Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (at NO)
22. Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens (at PIT)
Through four games, Lamar Jackson holds a slight edge over Patrick Mahomes as the top-scoring quarterback in fantasy football. He's done huge damage both through the air (1,110 yards, 10 TD) and on the ground (238 yards, 1 TD), and has yet to post fewer than 20 fantasy points in a game. The Pittsburgh Steelers shut down Andy Dalton on Monday night, but they gave up at least 24 fantasy points in two of their first four games and aren't much of a threat to slow Jackson down.
21. Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams (at SEA)
20. James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs BAL)
19. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs (vs IND)
18. Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Cleveland Browns (at SF)
17. T.Y. Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts (at KC)
16. Mark Ingram, RB, Baltimore Ravens (at PIT)
15. David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears (at OAK)
This game could easily be David Montgomery's coming out party. He saw a season-high 26 opportunities (21 carries and five targets) in Week 4, and he's seen his snaps increase significantly in the last two weeks. He now gets a prime matchup with an Oakland Raiders that has allowed opponents to rush for over 100 yards per game in 2019.
14. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs (vs IND)
13. Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints (vs TB)
12. Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns (at SF)
11. Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals (vs ARI)
10. Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons (at HOU)
9. Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers (vs DEN)
8. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans (vs ATL)
7. Le'Veon Bell, RB, New York Jets (at PHI)
6. Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints (vs TB)
5. Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (at CAR)
4. David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals (at CIN)
3. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers (vs JAX)
2. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys (vs GB)
1. Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings (at NYG)
One of only three RBs to top 80 fantasy points this season, Dalvin Cook gets an outstanding matchup this week. The Minnesota Vikings have given Cook a combined 44 opportunities (37 carries and seven targets) in their two wins, and they're likely to lean on him heavily while potentially playing with a lead as 5.5-point favorites over the New York Giants, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
