Fantasy Football Playoffs Advice
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 15 showdown.
Russell Gage Fantasy
Start Russell Gage, WR, Atlanta Falcons: With Calvin Ridley still dealing with personal issues, Russell Gage has been Matt Ryan's go-to wide receiver. He's averaged an impressive 8.3 targets over his last four games, during that into 305 yards and a touchdown. That's good enough WR13 in PPR over that stretch. The 49ers defense has been playing well as of late, although they're still giving up the 11th-most fantasy points to wideouts. The game script is heavily favoring the 49ers, so it wouldn't be surprising throwing the ball a lot, with Gage being the beneficiary of that scenario.
Deebo Samuel Fantasy
Start Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers: Deebo Samuel has emerged in more of a hybrid role for the 49ers over the last few weeks. While the 146 receiving yards over his last four games are somewhat worrying, he's also carried the ball 27 times during that span for 218 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Fortunately, he gets the best of both worlds this week. The Falcons rank ninth-worst and fifth-worst against rushers and wideouts, respectively. With Samuel displaying that he can both catch and rush the ball with the best of them, it could be a massive fantasy day for him.
Mike Davis Fantasy
Sit Mike Davis, RB, Atlanta Falcons: After a slow start, fantasy managers have been happy with Mike Davis production as of late. The veteran running back has averaged 15.3 PPR points in his last two outings, which has him as the RB12 since Week 13. Nevertheless, it's still hard to trust him. When Davis saw 11 carries last week, it marked the first time he finished with double digits in that category since Week 5. The 49ers have also allowed 86 or fewer rushing yards in four of their last five games. Even though Davis most of his points from the pass-catching game, it's clear that San Francisco has been improving against RBs in general.
Jeff Wilson Jr. Fantasy
Sit Jeff Wilson Jr., RB, San Francisco 49ers: With Elijah Mitchell still dealing with a concussion in addition to his knee injury, there's a solid chance that Jeff Wilson Jr. could start again for the 49ers. On paper, it seems like a great play since the Falcons give up 22.6 fantasy PPG to running backs. However, Wilson has averaged just 3.3 yards on 32 carries in two starts this season and still doesn't have a touchdown. His longest run of the season is just 12 yards, which shows that he may have lost his explosiveness. With the 49ers involving Samuel in the run game, Wilson belongs on the bench unless proven otherwise.
