The Carolina Panthers (4-7) go on the road to take on the Minnesota Vikings (4-6) in an NFL Week 12 battle between two teams fighting to stay alive in the NFC Wild Card race. The Vikings head into this matchup as 4.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL betting odds.
If you need help with your fantasy football lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for the Week 12 Panthers-Vikings showdown.
DJ Moore Fantasy
Start DJ Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers: DJ Moore has looked like the WR1 many fantasy football managers drafted him to be over the past two games as he has caught 11 of 18 targets for 223 yards and a touchdown. He was peppered with targets last week despite starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater missing the game due to an injury. Moore draws a decent matchup in Week 12 as the Minnesota Vikings have given up 17 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers so far this season (No. 31 in the NFL). Moore could very well be an important piece for fantasy football teams as they enter the playoffs given the hot streak he is currently on. He is a must start this week.
Justin Jefferson Fantasy
Start Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings: As a player in the running for offensive rookie of the year, Justin Jefferson has also burst onto the fantasy football scene. He has surpassed 100 receiving yards four different times this season and just scored his fourth touchdown last week. The Panthers rank in the middle of the pack in most pass defense numbers, but Jefferson could be in for a big week given No. 1 receiver Adam Thielen was recently placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Simply put, Jefferson is already one of quarterback Kirk Cousins go-to targets. He has shown he is worthy of starting across all fantasy football formats this week and moving forward.
Teddy Bridgewater Fantasy
Sit Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Carolina Panthers: Teddy Bridgewater missed last week's game due to a right knee injury and his status remains up in the air for now. If he is able to suit up, he doesn't provide a lot of upside from a fantasy football perspective. Bridgewater has thrown for just 13 touchdowns in 10 games played and has 7 interceptions on the season. While facing the Vikings' pass defense may be seen as a favorable matchup, Bridgewater has proven that even his best games are not always productive in fantasy football. As long as you have other options available to start, it would be smart to avoid streaming Bridgewater this week.
Kirk Cousins Fantasy
Sit Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings: Kirk Cousins is a quarterback that has a lot more relevancy in the NFL than he does in fantasy football. Cousins has thrown for over 300 yards just twice this season and has thrown 11 interceptions, which is tied for the second-most in the NFL. The Panthers' defense has only given up 16 passing touchdowns on the season (T-No. 13 in the NFL) and are allowing just 9.8 yards per completion (T-No. 6 in the NFL). This may be a game in which the Vikings lean on running back Dalvin Cook to carry the offense. Unless you are in dire need of a quarterback, Cousins is not worth starting in Week 12.
