The Washington Football Team won the NFC East in 2020 behind one of the league's best defenses. Entering 2021, it's clear the team needs to improve the offense if it hopes to make the leap to Super Bowl contender next season.
Thankfully, it appears the team is focused on doing just that. Washington is reportedly targeting an old Ron Rivera favorite: wide receiver Curtis Samuel.
Curtis Samuel Washington Rumors
Obviously, adding Samuel wouldn't completely fix this offense, but it'd be a pretty great first step. Coming off a breakout 2020 campaign, Samuel would give Washington the legit No. 2 receiver its been looking for.
He had 77 receptions for 851 receiving yards in 2020. But don't think of him as a one-trick pony. Samuel is one of the most versatile weapons in the game, as he handled 41 carries for 200 rushing yards (4.9 yards per rush) last season as well.
Having Samuel and Terry McLaurin at WR would give Washington one of the best young duos in the league. If this team manages to find a stud QB in the 2021 NFL Draft, Washington could be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC East.
