The powerhouse that once was the Golden State Warriors has had a tough start to the 2019-20 NBA season. The team lost two of its first three games in blowout fashion, and then last night the Warriors lost their best player, Steph Curry, to a broken hand. Needless to say, they fell for the third time in four games, but their odds to win the NBA Finals are what truly plummeted.

After opening the season at +1200 odds to take home the Larry O'Brien Trophy, the Warriors are now +16000 to win the 2019-20 NBA Championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Despite losing their first two games of the season, the Warriors' odds to win it all remained at +1200 before Curry went down. Obviously, losing an MVP candidate for any period of time changes things a bit.

How Long Will Steph Curry Be Out

Curry is out indefinitely, but the typical timetable for a fractured hand is 4-6 weeks.

It remains to be seen how this Warriors team will respond after such a big blow. It could be the thing that brings everyone together, lifting their level of play. However, it could be yet another blow to a squad that all of a sudden looks like a long shot to make the playoffs, let alone win an NBA title.
