After Country House, the 2019 Kentucky Derby winner, chose not to race at Pimlico, many horse racing fans wondered what sort of race they were in for at the Preakness Stakes.

Well, what they got was War of Will, and its 6-to-1 odds at post time, taking home the second leg of the Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.

War of Will had 4-to-1 morning line odds, according to TVG, and Improbable was the post-time favorite at 2-to-1 odds.

While Code Of Honor opened as the betting favorite to win the Preakness with 5-to-2 odds, according to TVG, the horse was held out of today's race. Code Of Honor finished in second place behind Country House in the 2019 Kentucky Derby official results.

With no Code of Honor, no Country House and no Maximum Security, the Preakness Stakes was wide open with morning line odds ranging from 5-to-2 up to 50-to-1.

The No. 9 horse, Bodexpress, threw its jockey off at the opening gate, but finished the race nonetheless.

With two races down and one to go in this year's Triple Crown, let's hope Country House and/or Maximum Security take the trip to New York so we can see them take on the 2019 Preakness winner in War of Will on Saturday, June 8 at the 2019 Belmont Stakes.
