The Denver Broncos are ready to put their disappointing 2020 campaign behind them. Denver spent the bulk of its resources this offseason on improving two key areas that hurt them in 2020: defense and quarterback play. With key contributors like Von Miller also healthy, the Broncos are positioned to make some noise in 2021.
Miller is feeling extremely confident in the talent on Denver's roster ahead of training camp.
Miller claimed without hesitation that "this is the best team we've been able to field in a long time." That's some high praise from the nine-year veteran who was part of the Broncos' Super Bowl win in 2015.
"The offense is going to be ridiculous. We've got Courtland (Sutton), Jerry Jeudy, Noah Fant, Albert (Okwuegbunam) -- I don't want to go through the whole thing -- Melvin Gordon and all these other big-time guys. The defense is just as stacked."- Von Miller
It's easy to see why Miller is hyped. The offense will be in a better place with Courtland Sutton back after missing most of 2020, and a QB competition between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater should push one of those two to prove they're the right man for the job.
On defense, Denver shored up its previously weak secondary with free-agent signings Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby, plus No. 9 overall pick Patrick Surtain.
Denver's additions and overall health will be key to them returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2015. The Broncos currently rank in the middle of the pack with +3000 odds to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
