In this corner! Standing at five feet and nine inches, Washington native and Boston Celtics guard, Isaiah Thomas! And his opponent, standing at five feet and eight inches, Michigan native and a member of the Phoenix Suns, Tyler Ulis! DING DING DING!

Shortest Combined Jump Ball in NBA History Video

Thomas pumps up the crowd just before the epic showdown, and Phoenix responds in disappointment as the hometown Ulis is unable to contend with IT. Unfortunately, this one wasn't even close. Thomas' vertical is just far superior. First round knockout.

Despite the result, this contest was just too unique to forget. 5'9" versus 5'8" in a jump ball? Even if teams wanted to break this record by starting the game with their two smallest bodies, it might be tough to find two NBA players with a combined height shorter than this.

Neither player remains with their respective franchises from this video, but this moment is now a part of history. It isn't even important who won, but rather that it occurred, and may never occur again.
