Today, May 25, is Brian Urlacher's birthday. To celebrate, let's re-live one of the best plays of his legendary career.
An 85-yard pick-six is always going to be a big play for a linebacker, but when it comes against a hated division rival and a Hall-of-Fame quarterback, it's especially sweet.
Soldier Field was already buzzing with the hometown Bears blowing out the Green Bay Packers in the fourth quarter of this game, holding a 28-7 lead. The Bears knew the Packers had to go pass-heavy while trying to come from behind, and with a defender as smart as Urlacher, that's trouble for a QB.
Urlacher deflected and eventually intercepted Favre's pass, running it 85 yards to the house for the first pick-six of his career, leaving the fans blowing the roof off Soldier Field in the process.
A four-time first-team All-Pro, Urlacher will forever go down as a Bears legend, joining the likes of Mike SIngletary and Dick Butkus in the list of all-time great linebackers in Chicago. Having a defining moment like this against the Packers is icing on the cake.
