The Big3 Tournament added another highlight to the 2019 reel over the weekend, when one of its most beloved former NBA stars sunk a crazy game-winning three-pointer against his one-time Boston Celtics teammate.
Nate Robinson joined the Big3 last year as a co-captain of Tri-State, which also features Amar'e Stoudemire and Jason Richardson, and are coached by Julius "Dr. J" Irving. In a game against team Power, the defending Big3 champs, Nasty Nate took on Glenn "Big Baby" Davis one-on-one, and proceeded to heave a banker from deep to win the game (50-43), followed by Davis carrying the 5'9" Robinson as the shot went down.
The game-winner moved Tri-State to 3-4 on the season, while Power sits at 5-2. Power, which also features former NBA players Corey Maggette, Cuttino Mobley, Carlos Boozer, Quentin Richardson and Chris "Birdman" Anderson, trails the first place Triplets (6-1) in the standings.
Lat week, Triplets had a game-winner of their own, when "Iso Joe" Johnson buried a four-pointer to defeat the 3 Headed Monsters.
