Former Alabama Crimson Tide standout tight end Irv Smith Jr. has been a nice addition to the Minnesota Vikings' receiving corps since he was drafted No. 50 overall in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

However, after a rookie campaign that saw 311 receiving yards and two touchdowns, fans in Minneapolis are surely looking forward to seeing that next step that Smith should take in his 2020 sophomore campaign.

And we're already getting an exciting glimpse into that from this video of him mic'd up at a Vikings practice in training camp.

With Stefon Diggs now suiting up for the Buffalo Bills, the Vikes used their 2020 NFL Draft first-round selection on former LSU Tigers star wideout Justin Jefferson.

This new rookie replacement for Diggs could also spell more receiving targets for Smith in the passing game, especially with a full year of chemistry under his belt with Kirk Cousins. Either way, Vikings fans have to love seeing this kind of energy and spirit out of Smith heading into the 2020 season.
