Quarterbacks were the talk of the 2021 NFL Draft given a deep class at the position. Five QBs went in the first round alone, though several talented prospects were taken after Round 1. The Las Vegas Raiders had no major QB need with Derek Carr at quarterback and proven veteran Marcus Mariota as backup.

The Raiders' draft focus instead was on defense with five of seven picks added to a porous defensive unit.

Here's a look at the Raiders' updated QB depth chart for 2021.

Raiders QB Depth Chart 2021

1. Derek Carr

Derek Carr is a true Raider. He's been the Raiders' starting quarterback for the last seven seasons. Carr has provided a steady hand in recent seasons, including passing for 4,103 yards and 27 touchdowns (with 9 INTs) in 2020 as the team finished 8-8. Las Vegas has been linked in rumors to Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, but Carr is QB1 in town barring a massive trade.

2. Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota's vision has always been to be a starter in the NFL, which he was for the Tennessee Titans over five seasons as the team's No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Mariota took a pay cut this offseason to remain with the Raiders though a trade still can't be ruled out. Mariota earned attention around the league after filling in one game for the injured Carr. He put up 226 passing yards and 1 TD plus 88 rushing yards over three quarters to almost help Las Vegas take down the Los Angeles Chargers.

3. Nathan Peterman

Nathan Peterman re-signed with the Raiders in February. He'll serve as the third-string quarterback again in 2021. Peterman was on the Raiders' practice squad in 2018 and on injured reserve in 2019.
