While many of Team USA's top players elected not to participate in this year's FIBA World Cup, their loss to France, 89-79, still came as a bit of a shock.

The US was outscored 26-13 in the fourth quarter of the game, and that late run has made France the new favorites to win the FIBA World Cup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

France is available at +155 to win it all, followed by Spain (+220), Australia (+250) and Argentina (+600).

The next test France will face is Argentina on Friday. France is favored by 5.5 points in that one, and the moneyline is available at -260. On the other side of the bracket, Spain will square off with Australia as 1.5-point favorites on Friday as well.

Team USA's next game will be against Serbia, and while the game won't mean anything of significance, the US is listed as a 3.5-point favorite ahead of tomorrow's matchup.

Team USA had won back-to-back FIBA World Cups, but they were always going to be fighting a bit of an uphill battle considering how many players dropped out this summer. Hopefully the US will be able to field more of a competitive roster when the Summer Olympics roll around in 2020.
