Over on FanDuel Sportsbook you can find odds for all 32 NFL teams to win their division. The favorites, for the most part, are the teams you'd expect after the way the 2018 season played out.
However, the NFL season isn't played on paper. With that in mind, here are four NFC underdogs that can win their respective divisions this season.
1. Green Bay Packers – +185 to Win NFC North
The Green Bay Packers have now missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2006, last winning the NFC North in 2016. This has given them some long odds, which is particularly interesting because their competition isn't especially tough. The favorites to win the division are the Bears (+180), and there are some signs that could point to a regression for Chicago. The Packers still arguably have the best passing game in the division, and that counts for a lot in today's NFL.
2. Dallas Cowboys – +135 to Win NFC East
Even with Ezekiel Elliott's contract disupute, it's interesting to see 2018's 10-win NFC East champions as underdogs. There were plenty of similarities between the Dallas Cowboys and the favored Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. Their regular season point differentials were very close, and both came within one score of an NFC championship berth. Neither team has made many huge changes this summer, so it's intriguing to get better odds on last year's more successful squad.
3. San Francisco 49ers – +500 to Win NFC West
The unknown factor with Jimmy Garoppolo helps explain these odds, but it's also what makes this team so interesting. Injuries have limited him to eight starts for the San Francisco 49ers, but they are a promising 6-2 in those games. Jimmy G is averaging 8.5 yards per attempt as a Niner, which is a mark only two QBs hit in 2018. With offensive mastermind Kyle Shanahan getting his top QB back, this could be a big year in San Francisco. The 49ers will have to contend with the Los Angeles Rams (-185), but if Jimmy G is healthy, San Francisco could be in the running all year long.
4. Atlanta Falcons +320 to Win NFC South
It's not easy sharing a division with the New Orleans Saints, but the Atlanta Falcons finished second in the NFC South in 2018 and won it as recently as 2016. Matt Ryan just flirted with 5,000 passing yards last season, and this year he'll get top RB Devonta Freeman back healthy. Calvin Ridley should continue to make strides after a terrific rookie campaign as well. That passing attack could lift the Falcons to double-digit wins like it did in 2016 and 2017, and Atlanta could give New Orleans a real run for its money this season.
