Contract extension talks between the Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver Tyreek Hill appear to be heating up. Reports on Friday claimed the two sides had been talking all week and exchanging proposals to lock down the star wideout on a long-term deal.

Tyreek Hill Contract Extension
Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports that Hill's new deal is expected to be worth around $85 million over four years, with "over half" of that total guaranteed. That'd give him an annual average value (AAV) right near $21 million, a step up from the $18 million AAV he earned on his last extension with KC.
This sounds like a fair deal all around, placing Hill near the top in AAV but also allowing some wiggle room for the Chiefs to fill out the rest of the roster. He certainly could push for more money after earning his sixth straight Pro Bowl selection in 2021, but it shows him being mindful of the great situation around him.
Hill turned in another stellar year last season, recording a career-high 111 receptions for 1,239 yards and 9 TDs.
If a deal is struck, this would be the second extension for Hill since being drafted by the team in 2016. He previously signed a three-year, $54 million contract at the start of the 2019 campaign.
