Byron Buxton's talent is undeniable. When he's on the field, he's unarguably one of the game's best players. However, being on the field is something that doesn't seem to happen often for Buxton. The 2022 season is a perfect example of both the former and the latter.

Buxton has managed to play in 92 of the Minnesota Twins' 120 games this season, which is already his most since 2017, but his season hasn't been without injury and things flared up once again Monday night.

Byron Buxton Injury Update

Already with 28 home runs on the season, Buxton has surely made his mark when he's been able to play, but he left Monday night's game early due to hip trouble. While it's just considered a day-to-day injury right now, it's enough for the Twins to send him for an MRI.

In the middle of tight AL Central and AL Wild Card races, the Twins need to be as healthy as possible down the stretch, especially following a 9-10 stretch in August that has cost them the division lead.

Minnesota is a +270 underdog to win the division at this point, trailing both the Cleveland Guardians (-105) and Chicago White Sox (+230) according to FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
