Twins Get Great News With Kenta Maeda Injury Update

The Minnesota Twins have been one of the most disappointing teams so far this MLB season. They find themselves in last place in the AL Central division with a 14-26 record, but maybe things are starting to turn around. The Twins did get good news regarding starting pitcher Kenta Maeda's injury.
Manager Rocky Baldelli said that Maeda is recovering well from his groin injury and suggested he will be ready to make his next start in an upcoming three-game series against the Cleveland Indians. Maeda felt some tightness in his groin during his last outing, but it seems to be a minor issue.
Alex Kirilloff will be beginning a rehab assignment for the Saints today. He'll DH and if that goes well, he should be out in the outfield tomorrow.

Kenta Maeda should be good to go to make a start this weekend in Cleveland.
Kenta Maeda Injury Update
Although Maeda currently has a 5.26 ERA on the season, he remains one of the Twins best starting pitchers. He has posted a 2-2 record so far and racked up 33 strikeouts in 37.2 innings pitched.
Minnesota would receive a massive boost if Maeda is able to find some of the form he showed in 2020. He finished last season 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA and averaged 10.8 strikeouts per 9 innings pitched. For now, the Twins just hope he can improve from some early season struggles.
All things considered, this is great news for Minnesota. The Twins currently have +1500 odds to win the division and +980 odds to make the playoffs, according to MLB odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook.
