TCU cornerback Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is headed to the 2023 NFL Draft after a standout 2022 season. Touting an impressive resume and NFL bloodlines, Hodges-Tomlinson could hear his name called as early as the third round at the end of April.

Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is an intriguing NFL Draft prospect not only because of his talent, but his NFL heritage as well. His uncle is legendary running back LaDainian Tomlinson, a former MVP winner and Hall of Fame inductee. Hodges-Tomlinson even went to the same school (TCU) as his uncle, where he impressed over four seasons and helped the Horned Frogs make it all the way to the National Championship Game this past year.

Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson Scouting Report

Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson only got better each year in college. After limited playing time as a freshman, the CB broke out in 2020, racking up 13 pass breakups in just seven games. He then turned it on in 2021, recording 2 interceptions (including a pick-six), 7 passes defended and two forced fumbles.

The 2022 campaign was Hodges-Tomlinson's best yet. On one of the top teams in the country, the playmaker posted a whopping 15 pass breakups to go along with 3 INTs and a forced fumble. Hodges-Tomlinson's excellent anticipation skills and ability to change directions on a dime helped him be a menace in the secondary for TCU.

Despite his production, Hodges-Tomlinson does have some concerns entering the draft. The most immediate his small frame at 5-foot-8 and 178 pounds. Though he's oozing with athleticism and coverage instincts, he could have limited potential at the next level considering his size disadvantage.

Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson NFL Draft Prediction

Hodges-Tomlinson's ability to be a difference-maker in the secondary won't be overlooked by some teams in the draft. Not every organization will want to take a chance on an undersized talent, but those that do could be rewarded in a big way.

The Indianapolis Colts stick out as great match for Hodges-Tomlinson. This squad is in desperate need of playmakers in the secondary, especially after losing veteran Stephon Gilmore this offseason. Hodges-Tomlinson presents an experienced replacement option after playing in 27 games over the last two seasons that could make an impact right away.

With the Colts slated to enter a full-scale rebuild led by a young quarterback, they can certainly afford to take a flyer on Hodges-Tomlinson's upside. The CB should be available at the beginning of the fourth round, though Indy has a third-rounder (No. 79) to consider using on him as well.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts (Round 4, 106th overall)
