The Houston Texans are desperate to move on from back-to-back four-win seasons amidst the Deshaun Watson off-field troubles. Promoting associate head coach and defensive coordinator Lovie Smith to the open HC role was a good step, and the franchise will have to continue this momentum in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Fortunately, Smith's hire is already seeing dividends when it comes to attracting talent.

Texans Draft Rumors

Potential No. 1-overall selection Kayvon Thibodeaux recently expressed his admiration for the "Lovie Smith system" at this week's draft combine. He even said "I'd love to be in Houston," while pointing out the success of former Texans' EDGE rusher Jadeveon Clowney.

Texans Rumors

Thibodeaux is clearly confident as he referred to himself as Jadeveon 2.0, but for good reason. The Oregon junior displays a number of pro-ready attributes including his continual motor and "fast and furious" starts on the snap. He also touts an NFL-ready build at 6-foot-5 and 258 pounds.

Houston enters the draft with nine total selections including the enticing No. 3 spot. Many mock drafts already call for Houston to take Thibodeaux at No. 3, and only time will tell if this is a match meant to be.

Thibodeaux racked up 122 tackles, 19 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 7 passes defended in just three short years at Oregon.
