The Chicago Bears are one of the teams doing their due diligence at this week's NFL Combine. Even though they don't have their first-rounder, the Bears will look to make the most of their five draft picks next month.
Although the Bears have struggled in recent years, that hasn't stopped one of the top-rated wide receivers in the draft from wanting to play in Chicago. Ohio State's Chris Olave has made it clear that he's open to a reunion with Bears QB Justin Fields.

When asked about possibly playing with Fields again, Olave told reporters at the combine that he thinks the two could "complement each other very well if we got to play together again."
Fields and Olave spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons together with the Buckeyes. During that span, the talented wideout caught 98 passes for 1,569 yards and 19 touchdowns over 20 games. Olave that momentum into his final season with Ohio State, posting a 65-936-13 stat line last fall.
The Bears are in desperate need of a playmaking wide receiver. Outside of Darnell Mooney, none of Chicago's other wideouts had noteworthy 2021 campaigns.
One thing standing in the way of a potential Olave-Fields reunion is that the Bears don't have their first-round draft pick. They don't have a selection until Pick No. 39 in the second round, so they would need Olave to fall all the way there unless they move up.
Nevertheless, if the Bears think Olave can help fix their offense, they have less than two months to make the moves necessary to draft him. The 2022 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 28 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
