Two of the top six scoring fantasy football defenses this season didn't even crack the top 15 in offseason average draft position (ADP) rankings.

Fantasy production for defenses is all about matchups and situation. That's why so many fantasy managers opt to lean heavily on the waiver wire and "stream" the position by readily adding and dropping defenses every week to find a new starter.

If you're one of those managers, The Duel is here to help with our top fantasy football streaming defenses for Week 8.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (vs NYG)

The Kansas City Chiefs' defense is obviously not good from a real football standpoint. That only sort of matters in fantasy football, however. Much more important is that the Chiefs are 10.5-point favorites in a juicy matchup with the New York Giants. Weak as they are, the KC defense has taken advantage of soft matchups with solid fantasy outings in the past (8 points against the Washington Football Team in Week 6). That makes them a viable enough streaming option against a Giants' offense that allowed top-12 fantasy production to opposing defenses if you're in a pinch this week.

2. Seattle Seahawks (vs JAX)

Speaking of viable fantasy defenses that aren't good in real football, can I interest you in the Seattle Seahawks and the 414.7 yards per game they're allowing? Those struggles haven't stopped them from putting up 6-plus fantasy points on three occasions. Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars are conceding 9.17 fantasy points per game on the season (third-most in the NFL), meaning if "defense against the Jaguars" were a single unit they'd rank No. 5 in fantasy scoring. This one is all about the matchup.

1. Cincinnati Bengals (at NYJ)

The New York Jets have been one of the only matchups more favorable than the Jags so far, and that was with Zach Wilson under center. Now it's going to be either Mike White or Joe Flacco. There isn't a defense in the NFL that wouldn't be a solid start against the Jets this week. Of course it certainly helps that the Cincinnati Bengals defense has quietly been great in 2021, ranking No. 7 in Pro Football Focus' grades and only falling below 5 fantasy points twice in seven games.
