Few defenses are true every-week starting options in fantasy football. That's why "streaming" the position, picking defenses off the waiver wire as needed every week, can be such a useful strategy.

These three defenses, rostered in 50 percent or less of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues, are the top waiver wire streaming options in Week 6.

3. Tennessee Titans (vs HOU)

The Houston Texans have allowed a pressure (hurry, QB hit or sack) on 25.8% of their drop backs this season — the third highest rate in the NFL. We haven't seen the Tennessee Titans defense play much this season, but their 27.0% pressure rate ranks No. 4 in the NFL heading into Tuesday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills. That combination could spell big things for fantasy production.

2. Carolina Panthers (vs CHI)

This matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears has a 44-point over/under, which is Week 6's second-lowest total on FanDuel Sportsbook. As 2.5-point favorites, that puts the Panthers D firmly in consideration for fantasy football. The Panthers only have one really solid fantasy showing (11 points vs. the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3), but this is also the easiest fantasy matchup their defense has faced all season.

1. New York Giants (vs WAS)

Speaking of easy matchups, the Washington Football team has allowed a 22.4% pressure rate (ninth highest in the NFL) while averaging just 4.2 yards per play (dead-last in the NFL). That has them as 3-point underdogs in the only game with a lower over/under (43.5 points) than the Panthers-Bears matchup. The New York Giants defense might be better than you think (No. 15 in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric), and you don't need them to be anything special to offer strong fantasy upside in this matchup.
